we're takin' this baby to the mooooooon!

Paper Bag Records' compilation "See You on the Moon!" is just two weeks young and is offered to kids for being "far more intelligent than the adults surrounding them." This collection of mostly original children's songs features a few artists you may not have heard of like Sufjan Stevens, Mark Kozelek and Broken Social Scene. Honestly though, these fresh inspired ditties from extremely talented songwriters will appeal to children of all ages.

A few odds 'n ends about some of these songs and artists...
Yesterday's spotlight, Stars, listened to Apostle Of Hustle's "Folkloric Feel" a lot while writing Set Yourself on Fire.
Mark Kozelek's most recent release was an entire album of Modest Mouse covers. Superb (old) news for any fan of either Mark or Isaac Brock.
Kid Koala (Eric San) has been hard at work at a new mixtape and his second graphic novel with the working title of "The Book About the Mosquito Who is Trying to Play the Clarinet."
Rosie Thomas and Sufjan Stevens have, together, created both a new Rosie album and a baby. Denison Witmer helped with one.
Broken Social Scene's "Puff the Magic Dragon" originally contained an additional three minutes of dialogue between the main characters of the story and a celebration of song. It was chopped off of the album as it was too bizarre. So if you'd like to hear the album version, stop listening after about 4:57 of the track I offer to you.

Here are the BSS homage to Puff and the title track, penned by Tony Dekker (Great Lake Swimmers), which will likely be in your head until the elves force you to buy this celebration of youth. A full track listing is available with links to each artist's web area. Those are the left-clickies. The two aforementioned songs are the right-clickies.
