heaven and hell came crashing down.

Asthmatic Kitty is pulling out all the stops this summer with (as you'll recall) the Sufjan Stevens' Illinois B-Side album and Shapes & Sizes stellar debut in July, and in August the recent head-cheerleader of the Illinoise-makers will release her debut as My Brightest Diamond. Shara Worden has been known to play shows wearing capes, gowns, or corsets, and can back it up with a classic upbringing in music. Her music is emotional and classical, brooding and honest, lyrical and intense. Based on the first song Asthmatic Kitty has released, this album will be astonishing and moving in divine lasting ways. Is that talking it up too much? Time will tell. But for now, get wrapped up in the first song (single) from Bring Me The Workhorse. And stop denying the dynamo that is AK Records.
Oh, and just the way "screamin' bloody awful" sounds thrills me.

Don't get behind on all the great blogs have to offer...
Dreams of Horses posted a cover of New Order's "Blue Monday" by Nouvelle Vague. It's great. Download it.
Lonesome Music posted a cover of Bloc Party's "Pioneers" by Tunng. It's fantastic. Download it.
Gorilla Vs. Bear got quick word on the new Long Winters album and posted a new song. Download it.
What are some of your favorite blog highlights?

I've gotten one reaction from the last post. While I'm ever appreciative of his expertise, I hope that's not all I'll have to base a decision on. HINT: Listen from the bottom of the list, up. You may find something you like quicker.
